Why should we pay for a professional when our Uncle has offered to film it with his DSLR?
There are many things that relatives could provide for your wedding day, but with all due respect, it
does not mean that they will necessarily do a good job of them. Camera enthusiasts are a world apart
from professional wedding videographers. Our cameramen have many years of experience in capturing
wedding day memories. We have heard so many horror stories about relatives running out of batteries
at crucial moments, not having enough space on their memory card and so on, surely it is just not
worth the risk. Besides, "Uncle Tom" is a guest at your wedding and he should be free to enjoy your
day.
Let us emphasise this crucial point. One of the biggest regrets that couples experience after their
wedding is the decision not to have professional video or photos. Over and over again we hear
comments from couples who did not have a professional team and they are devastated when they
realised that all they have as a memory is the poor quality, shaky home movie from “Uncle Tom.”
Please don’t leave this important decision to chance with your own wedding, hire the professionals.
Of course we don’t mind if you have guests there with cameras as long as they allow us the freedom
of movement needed to do our job as best we can.
We are thinking of having only still photographs taken, do we really need video?
Still photography will capture beautiful highlights and moments, but only video enables you to relive
the entire range of emotions that you felt during your wedding day. As the years go by, a video will
allow you to recreate the sights and sounds of your special day in full motion. Well done video and
photographs are equally important and that is why we offer both with every package.
Do you use professional equipment?
Yes, we film and edit everything on professional equipment, and the quality shows! In fact we have
led the way for other wedding video companies. We were the first wedding video business in Arizona
to offer 3D wedding videos and to adopt and use the High Definition (HD) format.
Will our wedding be available on DVD and online?
Yes, of course. DVDs are handy and for now are still the standard distribution method for
video/movies. In addition to having DVD copies of the video and photos an online link with your files
will digitally be available for download by you and your friends /family.
Can I choose the background music for our video?
We are more than happy to accept your choices of any songs that have special meaning to you.
I’m concerned the cameramen might get in the way.
Don’t worry. We appreciate this is your special day. The last thing we want to do is make you and
your guests feel any way uncomfortable. With experience comes knowing when to back off and
when to step in to get that perfect shot. Rest assured we have the experience necessary to deliver
just what is needed on the big day.
Do you use bright lights?
Our cameras work very well with low light conditions so we strive to be unobtrusive and maintain the
ambiance of the occasion. For creative and attractive photographs lighting the scene will often be
necessary and we know how to accomplish this without taking over your special day.
How long will the completed video run for?
Our philosophy is to work on the basis of quality, rather than quantity. As each wedding is different, it
is impossible to provide an exact length of the final film. As a guide, expect about 45 minutes to an
hour, sometimes more. Remember, we will capture and edit the entire day in a way that will hold
your interest throughout. With a sensible length production, it is easier to show repeatedly to friends
and family.
Can we choose the style and feel we want for the photos?
We want nothing more than to deliver just the style and feel you want in your photos and video.
Obviously it is just not practical for you to be involved in the editing process on a day to day basis.
However, we invite your input before the edit so that we can ensure that we reflect any specific
ideas and styles you have in mind.
Can we see examples of your work?
Yes, of course. There are some samples on this website, and we will be happy to send you a DVD of
our work too. Please use the contact page to submit the details of your event. If we are not
already booked for that date we will send you a full information package which includes samples of our
work.
Can I have all the original footage/photos afterwards?
Yes of course you can, we include all raw images on DVD and unedited footage can also be included
for a small additional fee. However, please bear in mind that the editing process is designed to
highlight all the best aspects of the recorded footage and by contrast you will be receiving raw,
unedited footage.
Will your cameramen be professional in appearance?
Absolutely, rest assured that we will blend in with other guests. Our professional cameramen take
great pride in presenting themselves with the utmost class, and if you have any special requests they
will respect your wishes and happily comply with the dress code you desire.
How customized will our finished video be?
Your video will be completely unique, creatively produced for you! We are not a production line for
cookie cutter wedding videos. Just as you are a unique couple, your wedding video will be uniquely
created for you.
Do you require a deposit for your services?
Yes, a deposit of 1/3rd of the total cost for your chosen package is required at the time of booking.
The remaining balance is required at least 14 days before the wedding day. The deposit is non-
refundable within 90 days of the wedding day.
How long is your turn around time (when will I have my pictures and/or video)?
We pride ourselves on being the best in the business, and we know the most important thing is
getting the finished product delivered. Without that all the time filming and taking pictures is
useless. We are confident that you will have your finished photos within 2 weeks and edited video
within 6 weeks. If something comes up and we will be unable to deliver in that time frame you wont
have to call us asking where your photos/video are we will be upfront in keeping you informed of your
expected delivery date.
Are you insured?
Yes, we are fully insured.
I am nervous about cameras, can you reassure me?
You’re certainly not the first person to tell us this, so don’t worry. We are experienced photographers
and know how to help you and your family relax and take great shots. Remember, you are the star of
the "show" and our job is to make you both look as good as possible so that you can be excited at
reliving the day with your friends and family.
I believe that our ceremony location restricts video taping inside, is that a problem?
We acknowledge that ceremony locations are not T.V. studios and therefore it is not always possible
to locate cameras in the ideal places. We will do our best to cooperate with these restrictions.
Will you attend the rehearsal?
If at all possible, we like to attend the rehearsal although this cannot be guaranteed. If circumstances
make it impossible for us to attend then we will make sure that we are aware of all the necessary
factors to make our side of things go smoothly on the day. We do make sure that we know our
location and lighting situation for every shoot beforehand weather that is done at the rehearsal or on
our own time.
Should we provide the cameramen with a meal?
Since we will be working long hours during your wedding day, it is inevitable that at some point our
team will need to have a break and possibly catch a small meal. We time this break when there is
some down time so we are not likely to miss any action (don't worry we will still have cameras on our
side just in case).
Can you interview some of our guests?
Absolutely! We do ask is that you notify us beforehand with the names of specific guests you would
like us to interview. Interviews and comments from the guests and family attending your wedding
are often times some of the most treasured video memories.
How early do we need to book your services?
Simply stated, the earlier the better, as dates fill up quickly and we only undertake one wedding on
any given day. Bookings are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
Can you travel?
Idea Film Factory has a fine reputation that means that clients all over the U.S.A. and Internationally
have used our services. Although we are based in Lake Havasu AZ, please do not hesitate to contact
